Description: Angelica Oil has been used since Medieval Ages. During Medieval Ages and Renaissance herbalists and physicians use it to protect people from the bubonic plague. According to an old myth, the plant has been named as Angelica after a French monk dreamed (in 1665) that Archangel Raphael suggested him to use the plant to cure people.

Therapeutic action: Angelica oil is recommended for treating a wide range of digestion problems, such as dyspepsia, anorexia, stomach ulcer, chronic enteritis and gastritis. Moreover, due to its tonic attributes, it can contribute to fast recuperation and strengthening the body’s energy, after certain instances of low immunization level (chronic diseases, anemia, childbirth, etc.). Angelica oil may reduce the symptoms of laryngitis bronchitis, lung diseases, asthma and cold. Finally, it is also used to detoxify the body, to balance the nervous system and to heal various skin diseases (psoriasis, skin irritation etc.).

Precautions: Angelica Oil is referred as non-toxic and non-irritant at low dose. However, it is very phototoxic and should not be used for at least 24 hours before exposure to sunlight. It can over stimulate the nervous system and cause insomnia. Furthermore, diabetics, people with high blood pressure, women during pregnancy and lactation should avoid using this essential oil.
